Crochet Project: Fingerless Mittens

Well, I have some catching up to do on my completed crochet projects here, due in part to some of them being gifts. In looking back, I see that I never blogged about this set of light-weight fingerless mittens I made as a gift for my Sister last autumn.
2 photos of fingerless mittens in shades of blue, green, brown, and cream, laying flat on a dark wooden surface, and 1 mitten being modeled by a hand.
They are made from a double-strand of leftover KnitPicks Chroma fingering weight yarn in Galapagos and North Woods colorways and a size I hook. I sort of made up the pattern as I went along, but I used an alternating pattern of half-double crochets and chains worked in rounds of a size to fit around the hand. I left 4 spaces for the thumb hole - and worked a round of hdc+ch around the thumb hole to make them more fitted. They are warm but lightweight, perfect for chilly autumn/spring days.
