Crochet Project: Christmas Dress

This post is a week late, but I did finish my Christmas dress in time for Hubby's work Christmas party last weekend. I used the Little Black Dress pattern from Crochet That Fits by Mary Jane Hall. Since the pattern is customized to the person making the dress, it was a great fit.

The yarn used in the pattern is discontinued, so I substituted Vanna's Glamour in Ruby Red. The yarn was kind of scratchy, but it was fine with a slip underneath. In the 6 balls I needed to make my dress, 4 had multiple ties which I had to cut out, the 5th had multiple breaks in the red metallic strand twined with the yarn that had to be cut out, and the 6th was fine. Not very good odds, IMO.

The body of the dress was created with a G hook, and the straps were created with an F hook.
