Crochet Project: Cat Tail Toy

This was an impromptu holiday gift project I worked up in less than 5 minutes using some yarn leftovers (Yarn Bee Wild Child in Parfait and KnitPicks Chroma in Roller Skate) for a very playful young kitty my parents rescued.
Long fuzzy pink cat tail toy hanging on a nail on a white door background.
Using a double strand of the eyelash yarn and the fingering weight pink yarn, I chained 50 with a size G hook, and then turned and worked a half-double crochet in each stitch across. Then with the fingering weight yarn I chained approximately 40 and attached it to the top of the furry “tail” to make a loop for a human hand to hold onto or to hang the toy from a nail/hook for play. That’s it.

It's a simple, silly-looking toy, but I hear the energetic little kitty loves it. :)

  1. That's a great idea for scrap yarn, but I don't think our Chica would play with it. Pity. It's so cute!

  2. This kitty would (and does) play with pretty much anything, so it was a good bet she'd like this. ;)
