I just adopted a retired service dog named Rudy and wanted to make her something for the Artic cold we are experiencing. I couldn't see how to share a photo here so you can see Rudy on my Facebook fanpage and I shared the link to your blog too!

https://www.facebook.com/IrishHooksandYarn

Thanks again! Every dog is going to have a different body shape/size and thus require a different amount of stitches and rows for a correctly fitting sweater. Nonetheless, you should still be able to achieve the same saddle-blanket style sweater with my general instructions. :-)L^2https://www.blogger.com/profile/00116360024655645948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9146221760774265592.post-89714855397499857462013-11-08T23:59:36.030-05:002013-11-08T23:59:36.030-05:00This is lovely! I don't do nearly as well with math as I used to - I'm glad I found a pattern for a dog comparable to her size. Everything else on Ravelry was for little dogs ... So, when you get to the end of the row, just turn, without chaining and continue on with the next row's instructions. I'm sure most people will have to modify the pattern to make it fit their dog's specific measurements. But, nonetheless, I hope my pattern is helpful.L^2https://www.blogger.com/profile/00116360024655645948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9146221760774265592.post-49195783089939039222012-01-24T14:51:53.486-05:002012-01-24T14:51:53.486-05:00I just made this coat for my Bulldog! My guide dog moved from the warmth of Southern California where he was raised and trained to winter in the Midwest with me, so that was part of my motivation for making him a sweater too.L^2https://www.blogger.com/profile/00116360024655645948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9146221760774265592.post-79512265433359895242012-01-09T21:26:05.151-05:002012-01-09T21:26:05.151-05:00Thanks for the pattern! I knew she loved her food, but compared to your "working "dog," she's fat and spoiled. I appreciate the pattern with the measurement so we can "adjust" it. =). I"m planning to move from Florida to Oregon with my Lab, and I"m looking forward to making her a coat to help ease the transition.
